Terms of Use

kinderCare parent app (iOS and Android) · Last updated 5 August 2026 · Deutsche Fassung

Provider. kinderCare, Berlin and Hamburg, Germany. Questions about these terms: tim@kindercare.ai.

These terms govern your use of the kinderCare parent app. By creating an account you accept them. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

What the app does

kinderCare lets parents handle everyday paediatric paperwork with their child’s practice: requesting repeat prescriptions, sick leave certificates and therapy prescriptions, keeping their children’s records in one place, and asking AI Buddy general questions about child health. kinderCare passes your requests to the practice you are registered with. kinderCare is not a medical practice, does not provide treatment, and does not decide any request itself.

Who may use it

Requests and the practice’s decision

A request submitted in the app is a request, not a prescription. The practice reviews it and may approve, decline, or ask for more information, on its own medical judgement and its own schedule. Neither the app nor kinderCare promises a particular outcome or response time.

The app is not a channel for urgent care. If something cannot wait, contact the practice directly, the on-call medical service (116 117 in Germany), or the emergency number (112).

AI Buddy

AI Buddy answers general questions with educational information produced by an AI model. It can be incomplete or wrong, it does not know your child’s medical history, it does not diagnose, and it does not replace a healthcare professional. Do not rely on it for decisions about treatment, and do not use it in an emergency.

How you may use it

Availability, changes and cost

The app is free of charge for parents. It is provided as it stands: features can change, be added or be withdrawn, and the service can be unavailable during maintenance or through faults outside our control. We aim to keep interruptions short and to announce planned ones in the app.

Ending your use

You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app under Profile → Edit profile → Delete account, which removes your account and its data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend an account that is used in breach of these terms or in a way that endangers other users or the service, and will tell you why where we lawfully can.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where liability follows from statute regardless of fault. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual duty, and only for foreseeable damage typical of this kind of service. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by this section.

Medical decisions about your child are made by the practice treating them. Nothing in the app substitutes for their care, and kinderCare is not liable for the practice’s decisions.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version appears at this address with a new date. Changes that affect your rights or duties in a material way will be presented in the app before they apply.

Applicable law

German law applies. If you use the app as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in continue to apply.
